SilverCloud can be utilised in different ways within a service. The main models of delivery are described below, but there is scope for services to innovatively use the platform to suit the needs of their own delivery landscape.
Supported model
The primary use of SilverCloud is as a guided self-help intervention where clients have an allocated supporter. The main role of a supporter is to monitor and review their clients progress using asynchronous written communication through the platform.
Usage examples: majority of IAPT services at step 2, some services at step 3, a waiting list initiative, a discharge planning tool.
Self-help (unsupported) model
SilverCloud programmes may be offered as a self-help or unsupported option for positive mental fitness and wellbeing.
Usage examples: prior to treatment as a waiting list initiative, an accompaniment to group treatment, a discharge planning tool.
Blended therapy model
SilverCloud programmes can be used as an adjunct to therapy to provide enhanced support.
Usage examples: an introduction to CBT, as a record keeping/activity tracking tool alongside 1 to 1 treatment at step 3, a discharge planning tool.
