SilverCloud’s Space for Early Parenting program has been designed to help both women and men improve their wellbeing during and up to one year after pregnancy by:
- Educating individuals about the perinatal period and the possible changes they may experience in their thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and behaviors
- Gaining an understanding of the process and an appreciation of the time it takes to feel better and improve their wellbeing
- Learning the importance of seeking help, setting goals, and self-care
Who is the program best suited for?
This program has been designed for both women and men during and up to one year after pregnancy who are looking to better manage their anxiety and depression during the perinatal period, while learning to reflect on their mental health and discover ways to reduce tension, worry.
How does it work?
The Space for Early Parenting program gives users a better understanding of the connection between their thoughts, feelings and behaviors.
The program consists of 6 modules whose structure and content follow evidence-based principles of traditional, face-to-face, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. The contents of each module are briefly described in the table below.
Program Modules
Finding Your Feet |
This module introduces the user to the program and informs them on how this program can help them improve their wellbeing during the perinatal period. |
Tuning In To Feelings |
This module takes a closer look at the different emotions, thoughts, behaviors and physical reactions the user might experience during the perinatal period. |
Improving Sleep |
In this module, users will learn more about sleep and how this can be affected during the perinatal period. |
Taking Action |
In this module, users will learn more about how you can manage low mood or depression with an evidence-based intervention called Behavioural Activation (BA). |
Dealing With Worry |
This module introduces you to the role of worry and anxiety in the perinatal period. They will learn how to cope with and manage your worries more effectively. |
Staying Well |
This final module brings together all the skills and ideas the user has gathered, giving tips on how to maintain these positive changes and stay well in the future. |
